Antibiotics

Antibiotics are agents that help to combat the infections caused due to bacteria. They achieve this by killing the bacteria or stopping their multiplication. The word “anti” means “against” and “biotic” means “life”. So, basically any drug that helps to kill the germs in your body is an antibiotic. However, most people associate the term antibiotic with anti-bacterial medications. All antibiotics have some degree of adverse effects associated with them. These drugs should not be inadvertently administered for the fear of bacteria growing resistant to them. Ideally, antibiotics must be administered to patients after due Culture and sensitivity testing.
