Anti Cancer Drugs

Anti-cancer medications are also known as antineoplastic agents or chemotherapeutic drugs. They work by acting upon fast multiplying cancerous cells in the body and destroying them. They may be administered as a Single-drug therapy or Combination therapy depending upon the type and aggressiveness of cancer. Though, very often combination therapy is preferred to achieve superior effects

The different types of anti-cancer agents are:

● Antimetabolites
● Antimicrotubule agents
● Topoisomerase inhibitors
● Cytotoxic agents

Many of these drugs have considerable adverse effects like alopecia, nausea, vomiting, anemia etc.
